* National Breast Cancer Centre incorporating the Ovarian Cancer Program - the National Breast Cancer Centre (NBCC) was established in 1995 by the Australian Government in response to community concerns about the human cost of breast cancer. In 1999 the Government provided funding to expand our work into ovarian cancer.

* Better Health Channel – the Better Health Channel was judged the most popular health and medical information website in Australia in 2005 by Hitwise, an independent web measurement company. It's ideal for health professionals because it offers comprehensive patient information written in language that is easy to understand.
* The Lance Armstrong Foundation - from the moment of diagnosis this site provides cancer resources to help you or your loved one live with, through and beyond cancer. Particularly helpful is the “Take Control” link on the website.
* Royal Children's Hospital - particularly the fact sheets which contain great info for doctors and parents about heaps of paediatric problems and issues (suggested by Dr Philip Smith.
* Dermnet New Zealand - patient information leaflets - an alphabetical listing and explanations of skin conditions.
* MedTerms Medical Dictionary - Online Medical Dictionary is the medical reference for MedicineNet.com, containing easy-to-understand explanations of over 16,000 medical terms. This online medical dictionary provides quick access to hard-to-spell and often misspelled medical definitions through an extensive alphabetical listing.
* Australian Breastfeeding Association - has a wealth of information for women (and the wider community) on breastfeeding topics. The website also has information on the ABA's Lactation Resource Centre which 'specialises in providing the community and health care industry with comprehensive and readily useable information resources on all aspects of human lactation' - a great resource for General Practitioners and Practice Nurses.
* Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing - the Health Institute is primarily a site for consumers to find high quality and relevant health information, but it does provide links to information for health professionals.
* Victorian Government Health Information - A-Z topics - information on common health topics that may help you to understand the facts about various medical conditions. You can also obtain fact sheets in various languages.
* MyDr - From MIMS, use the search function to find a GP in your area.
* Companion card for people with a permanent disability - This gives free access to activities and events to a carer. Includes eligibility criteria, how to apply, download application forms, multilingual resources.
* Travel Medicine - compiled by Dr Colin Adams, this provides comprehensive advice and resources for GPs to advise patients who are travelling overseas.
